Salary Range: $1,259 - $1,436 per 35 hour week + superannuation, with a monthly RDO


As Team Leader Customer Service, you will oversee staff in the Customer Service area of the Coonabarabran Council Administration Office, including the Coonabarabran Service NSW Agency, and work closely with the Manager Corporate Services to address any issues. On a day to day basis you will provide leadership to the team to ensure smooth running of the customer service area and Service NSW, providing assistance to staff and serving customers as needed. This will include undertaking training in Service NSW. 

The Team Leader Customer Service supports the Manager Corporate Services with various administration duties and staffing matters. This role also provides secretarial support to the organisation for the preparation of correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes, records management, filing, and other administrative tasks.

In this role, you will also be a key contact within the organisation for basic IT matters. You will assist with applications and technology enhancements, including testing and training, monitor and troubleshoot IT systems and applications to ensure optimal performance, and perform routine checks and audits on IT Infrastructure and applications.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be achievement oriented with excellent administration, interpersonal and customer service skills, and an aptitude for everyday IT requirements.

Selection Criteria include

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant qualification and at least two years experience in an administrative role
  • Computer skills including demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word to produce professional documents and reports to a high standard
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written enabling effective interaction with a diverse range of people in a variety of situations and the ability to prepare original correspondence and reports where required
  • Demonstrated negotiation and people management skills to gain cooperation for work production and outcomes
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills enabling effective management of a busy and changing workload
  • Demonstrated customer service skills in telephone, reception and counter service, including a proven ability to deal effectively with difficult situations and customers
  • Class ‘C’ drivers licence
  • Experience in dealing with insurance claims
  • Experience in filing and knowledge of records management .
