Salary Range: $1,259 - $1,436 + superannuation
Reporting to the Director Technical Services, this role will support the Technical Services department in all areas of administration, at a senior level, to ensure the smooth management of the day to day affairs or the department. This role will handle sensitive and complex issues and the job holder is expected to manage this in a professional and objective manner. This role may be expected to assist/fill in for the Personal Assistant to Director Technical Services if needed to cover leave or other absence.

This position is located in the beautiful town of Coonabarabran, known as the Astronomy Capital of Australia, which is midway between Melbourne and Brisbane and is known for its beautiful landscape and stunning night skies. The town has medical services, excellent schools, a variety of sporting and social clubs and a thriving tourism Industry. With the nearby Warrumbungle National Park, which is also Australia’s first Dark Sky Park, there is plenty to do and explore whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation.
Selection criteria include:
- Extensive experience in an office administration role and Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant qualification
- Demonstrated high level of confidential probity
- Excellent computer skills in word processing, database packages, browsers and email programs, preferably Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and fast, accurate typing
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including experience in report writing and a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service principles and practices
- Ability to solve problems by applying standards, established practices and procedures or operating instructions
- Class C NSW Drivers Licence
