We’re looking for a Senior Administration Officer to support our Technical Services department at a senior level — working closely with the Director and departmental leaders to manage daily operations, communications, and coordination across a busy team. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of information, preparation of reports and documents, and effective scheduling and management of meetings. You’ll handle complex and often sensitive matters, maintain accurate records, and liaise with stakeholders ranging from team members to Councillors and external agencies. You may also step in to support the Director’s PA as needed.
We're looking for someone with strong organisational skills, a knack for multi-tasking, and a professional and friendly demeanour. You'll need experience in senior admin roles, excellent written and verbal communication, and a commitment to high-quality customer service.

This position is located in the beautiful town of Coonabarabran, known as the Astronomy Capital of Australia, which is midway between Melbourne and Brisbane and is known for its beautiful landscape and stunning night skies. The town has medical services, excellent schools, a variety of sporting and social clubs and a thriving tourism Industry. Selection criteria include:
- Extensive experience in an office administration role. Experience in Local Government would be highly regarded.
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent relevant qualification - Diploma is a plus!
- Demonstrated high level of confidential probity.
- Excellent computer skills in word processing, database packages, browsers and email programs, preferably Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and fast, accurate typing.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including experience in report writing and a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service principles and practices.
- Friendly and welcoming personality with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad cross-section of individuals, stakeholders and organisations.
- Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
