Team Leader Reticulation South
Job No:
WASC578
Location:
Coolah
Department: Warrumbungle Water
Reports to: Supervisor Warrumbungle Water Reticulation
Salary Range: $1,296 - $1,480 per 38 hour week + superannuation
Warrumbungle Shire Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Team Leader to oversee the operation, maintenance, and emergency repair of our water and sewerage reticulation systems across the southern end of Warrumbungle Shire. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our communities have access to safe, reliable drinking water in line with NSW Health standards and Council’s EPA licence requirements.
In this dynamic leadership role, you’ll coordinate a dedicated team of operations staff, fostering a positive and safety-focused workplace culture. You’ll lead by example — organising daily operations, mentoring team members, identifying training needs, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of water and sewerage management. Your technical expertise will be critical in overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and codes. You’ll also take the lead during emergency call-outs, keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly. From managing budgets and schedules to troubleshooting complex infrastructure challenges, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of our reticulation systems.
To succeed, you’ll be a qualified and licensed plumber (or able to become licensed within a reasonable timeframe) with hands-on experience in water and wastewater reticulation. You’ll have a solid understanding of AS 3500: Plumbing and Drainage and WSAA Codes, along with a strong safety focus and excellent problem-solving abilities. A Class C driver’s licence is essential, and additional qualifications in confined space, traffic control, or MR licence are highly regarded.
This is your opportunity to take ownership of a vital community service while developing your leadership career in a supportive local government environment.
