Supervisor Finance Coolah

Job No: WASC620
Location: Coolah

Department: Finance

Reports to: Manager Finance

Salary Range: $98,514 - $114,490 per annum + superannuation

Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys leading people, improving systems, and ensuring financial integrity?

Council is seeking a Supervisor Finance to oversee and coordinate key financial operations that support essential services for our community. This role plays a critical part in managing Council’s primary revenue streams, including rates, water billing, accounts receivable, and the coordination of revenue-related financial processes. You’ll work closely with a supportive team and senior leaders to ensure financial operations are accurate, compliant, and continually improving.

As the Supervisor Finance, you will lead a capable and collaborative team responsible for rates administration, water consumption billing, accounts receivable, and procurement stores operations. You will oversee the annual rates levy process, manage debt recovery activities, and ensure accurate and timely revenue collection. The role also includes important governance responsibilities such as bank account administration, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with the management and reporting of Council’s investment portfolio. Your strong attention to detail and ability to interpret legislation will ensure compliance with the Local Government Act, accounting standards, and Council policies.

This role also contributes to Council’s broader financial management functions. You will assist with financial reporting, preparation of annual financial statements, and internal and external audit processes. Working closely with the Manager Finance and Director Corporate and Community Services, you will provide expert financial support across the organisation while identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, procedures, and internal controls.

You’ll be leading a supportive, experienced and collaborative team that values communication, shared knowledge and helping each other succeed. The team is diverse in experience and background but united in their commitment to delivering reliable financial services to the organisation and the community. If you bring strong financial expertise, leadership capability, and a keen eye for detail, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a role that combines technical accounting, governance, and people leadership.
